Thanksgiving was fun. I made eggnog, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes and green bean casserole. We'll be buying more eggs tomorrow so I will make some more eggnog. It was really tasty. If you want any recipes, let me know. I'm pretty sure you have the ingredients to make eggnog, milk, eggs, sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. I've been going to all the church activities lately and getting my visiting teaching done. My VT companion Miriam, recently had surgery on her hand to make the ligaments tighter. She has Lupus, so her medication makes her immune system not as strong, so they had to wait a while to see if she would be healthy enough for surgery. Also, a girl who goes to the Napa ward because her mom lives there, but she lives in Sacramento, she recently had to go to the hospital for something they thought could be cancer, Lymphoma, but it turned out it after the biopsy that it was this really rare disease that mimics cancer and isn't as bad. She gets mostly the same treatment for it though. She's a friend on facebook, so I got to hear about everything whenever she found out something new.
I went to a relief society recipe exchange that was fun. I brought Nanaimo bars, that dessert recipe that I got because of Tara, Chad's wife. Very yummy. Also, I got a notice from Barnes and Noble in my email like I usually do since I'm subscribed to them for any coupons they might send me. They were having a sale on Friday for their Nook e-reader and it was only $79 that day. Normally it is $100. So I decided to go and get it. I can read pdf stuff on it and get books from the library on it as well, so it's not like I will have to buy books to read on it. I already requested the new Beka Cooper book by Tamora Peirce from the library. Heidi's new phone has the Android operating system and can give her directions and surf the internet and have the scriptures on it. She uses it now when we read family scripture together and I hope she is able to make use of it in church since she usually forgets to bring her scriptures, now she can just
use her phone to look up scriptures

Things are going pretty well here. I got to work a long term sub job from late October to now. I was glad to have work every day, and I actually felt motivated to get up and go to work every day, not just some days, so that was good. Over a week ago Daniel Newbold, one of David Hamaker's cousins from his mom's side asked to be my friend on facebook. I usually don't become friends with people on facebook unless I've met them, went to school with them, or are family, but I said yes because he was single and cute, and also, related to the cool Hamaker and Voigt family. We have talked a lot and he has texted me a lot, and I got to meet him and his dog Nuge, and play Smash Bros. And watch Harry Potter and drink ovaltine. He has some hearing loss, but seemed quite able to carry on a conversation. His hearing aids helped with that I think. He has a speech impediment that bothered me a bit at first because I couldn't understand some of what he was saying, but he said that he was tired, and it gets worse
when he's tired. I got more used to it the second time I visited him. He doesn't have a car and lives in downtown Sac, so he can't really take me out yet. I'm excited about getting to know him better.
For the next two weeks I will have no work and lots of free time. I plan on doing lots of cleaning and baking and writing journals and calling friends I need to hang out with.
David Hamaker was over this weekend because his car was having trouble. He got one of his cousins to come over this morning to look at it and they were getting it fixed last I saw. He was gone when I came home from church, so I hope that went well. Loki has been a great cat, and I was able to take the e-collar or cone of shame off her on Wednesday because her incision spot was much better, and she had no more swelling. Her fur is slowly growing back from when they shaved her and she got spayed over two weeks ago on December 1st.
I will be going to the Sylvan Singles ward starting in January because that is the ward I should be going to according to where I live. I thought staying at my parents house would be temporary, and that's why I wasn't going to the Sylvan ward before. But it's been almost two years, so it seems I won't be moving out anytime soon, so I should go to the Sylvan ward. Also, I will get to go with my sister Heidi, and help her to get there on time and to go more regularly.

I’ve been using the letters I send to you to make my online journals lately. Not all of the time, and I usually edit it a bit, but all the stuff about me and what’s been happening lately, I just copy that part. So, over the two weeks I had off I don’t remember doing much of note. I did make pie again and we don’t have any frozen pumpkin left. For Christmas we opened presents even though there weren’t that many. Heidi and I pooled our money to get Jared an airsoft pump action shotgun that he had said he wanted. I got Dad the movie The Magnificent Seven in VHS format and I got Heidi the soundtrack to the movie for Death Note, the live action version. Then on Monday, Heidi and I went shopping for shoes with Mom. We helped pay for her $50 boots that she wanted and tried on and decided more quickly than usual what she wanted. I had gone with Mom to the D.I. a few days before Christmas to look at suits to buy for Dad and I picked one out even though the pants size was 36 waist 32 length which was too baggy for Dad, but it was a nice suit and only $9 so I figured I would be able to find someone who needed it.
Also, during those two weeks, my sleep schedule got all out of wack because I kept staying up really late and then sleeping in a lot. So I was staying up until about 5 in the morning and then waking up in the afternoon. Getting back to a normal sleep time has been hard. I’ve been eating lots of chocolate and fudge and stuff though because of all the treats I got from my co-workers at Peck elementary. Also, Crystle Riebli gave me some fudge in a cute little tin.
Yesterday was Ross’s Deadlands RPG and that was fun. The Saturday before that was the New Year’s party. So Dave Humphrey’s rpg game ended. We finished the campaign, so he wasn’t having the game last Tuesday. But David Hamaker decided to move his new D&D game with Maria and Luis to Tuesday, and so that worked out nicely that day. We always drink lots of hot cocoa at Maria’s place. This time her roommate Shana(Shayna?) played too. Greg hasn’t had his game in a while, and I hope it doesn’t conflict with other stuff. This Saturday is going to be Crystle’s bridal shower, so I won’t be able to role-play that day. And then the next week will be Deadlands again. So..the next available Saturday would be the 28th. But maybe we could do a Friday night game or something.
Today was fast Sunday and I got to make potato soup and bring it to Break the Fast at the Sylvan ward. I also got to meet with the bishop and get to know him better and talk about me getting a calling and going visiting teaching and stuff. Cira Fear is the Relief Society President and she does a lot of work because they had a bunch of people move out of the ward recently for school and stuff, so they need to assign new people to the callings. I talked to Kim, Emily and Nicole today at the table we ate at. Last week Heidi and I talked to the other Heidi in the ward who is my sister’s visiting teaching companion, so that was fun. I will try to write more often, and I hope you are doing well!
